North Carolina’s Eric Ebron was one of the fastest tight ends at the NFL Scouting Combine; he ran a better time in the 40-yard dash (4.60) than Florida State’s Kelvin Benjamin (4.61), who is among a handful of wide receivers the Steelers may consider drafting next month in the NFL draft.
Ebron, 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, will likely be gone by the time the Steelers make their first-round selection at No. 15 next month, but should Ebron fall, the Steelers may pass on a receiver or a cornerback to snag him.
Ebron tweeted this past week that the two teams who have shown the most interest in him are the Bills (No. 9 pick) and Lions (No. 10), but the Giants (No. 12) also could be a factor.
