Bears free agent quarterback Josh McCown said his representatives have communicated with four teams, and the Jets are believed to be one of them.
McCown, who will be free to sign somewhere Tuesday at 4 p.m., appeared on “Mike & Mike” on ESPN Radio on Monday morning. He declined to say which teams specifically have inquired about him, but ESPN reported the Jets, Bears, Buccaneers and Texans are the teams most interested in signing him.
“I’m not going to get into who I talked to,” McCown said. “There is a window and there is legal tampering, but there are some shades on that window, so I don’t know out of respect to those teams if we want to get into that right now. We’ve talked to four teams. There have been good discussions. We’ll take those as they come and evaluate those situations.
