Jenna Laine Talks Piling on Schiano, Filling the Void on Offense

Tuesday morning I joined Eric Lopez on Sports Talk Florida Mornings, which can be heard on Sports Talk 1040 (Tampa Bay) and 1080 (Orlando), to talk about the loss of Mike Williams to injury, the Bucs’ loss to the Panthers on Thursday, and how fans have essentially piled on head coach Greg Schiano.

We talked about Mike Silver’s story that came out last week, in which a former Bucs player likened the Schiano regime to “living in Cuba.” Eric said he felt the  remark, likening Schiano to a dictator, was crossing the line. I gave my take on it.

That led us to talk about the national media’s perception of the Bucs following the Thursday night game. I was able to speak to several league insiders after the game and shared their perspective on the team.

We also discussed the loss of Mike Williams and how Tiquan Underwood, Chris Owusu, Skye Dawson, and Eric Page will have to step up to fill the void. I clarified that I fully believe it was Williams’ decision to continue playing through the hamstring injury, which initially surfaced against the New England Patriots.
