Jenna Laine Talks Bucs-Seahawks, Criticism of McCoy

This morning, I joined Eric Lopez on Sports Talk 1040 (Tampa Bay) and 1080 (Orlando) during my usual 7:30 time slot to break down this weekend’s Bucs-Seahawks game, which features Tampa Bay’s lone West Coast trip of the season.

Seattle escaped a close call on Monday Night Football this week, pulling out a 14-9 road win over the Rams with a goal line stand. This weekend, however, the Seahawks return to Quest Field, where they’ve won 11 straight dating back to 2011 and have arguably the league’s best home-field advantage with the notorious “12th Man.”

The Bucs failed to contain one of the league’s most elusive quarterbacks in Cam Newton last week, and this week, they face Russell Wilson, who has already accrued 339 rushing yards for the season, even more yardage on the ground than Newton.

We talked about the problems Wilson poses for the Bucs, and why Tampa Bay’s front seven has a real opportunity against an offensive line that gave up seven sacks to the Rams. We discussed the relationship between Wilson and Bucs quarterback Mike Glennon from their time together at N.C. State too.

We also addressed the latest story surrounding Gerald McCoy getting criticized by his defensive line coaches for helping opponents up after knocking them down. I have some strong opinions on that.

You’ll also hear Eric and I talk about how long head coach Greg Schiano lasts, and why I think we may very well see him finish out the season, even if the losses keep piling up.

You can listen to it all here (and yes, it’s smart phone friendly):
