In Thursday’s preseason game against the Chicago Bears, Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles proved he’s there for a reason. It seems like his performance caused coach Gus Bradley to make a decision.
According to Jaguars.com senior writer John Oehser, there won’t be a definite change in the team’s short-term approach to the QB position, but Bortles will play with the starters against the Detroit Lions in their next preseason game.
However, Bradley pointed out they still feel strongly about quarterback Chad Henne. He just wants to get the rookies some time with ones. Henne is still expected to start in their first regular-season opener in Philadelphia.
We get it, coach Bradley. But, he should still take another look at what Bortles has done this preseason for his team.
