In a wide-ranging interview Tuesday night, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said there’s no guarantee of another cold-weather Super Bowl and also mentioned the possibility of future playoffs with more wild-card teams and a schedule that could include games on Friday and Monday in addition to the traditional Saturday and Sunday setup.
Goodell also said league owners were considering adding two additional wild-card teams to the playoff mix, although he didn’t offer a timeline.
“That is under serious consideration,” he said. “One of the great things about the NFL other than it’s unscripted is that every team starts the season with hope.”
