Former NFL Official Jerry Seeman Dies

NFL_Logo_2012Jerry Seeman, who refereed in two Super Bowls before becoming the NFL’s supervisor of officials, died Sunday evening at his home in Blaine. He was 77.

Seeman, who had been in a 3-1/2-year fight with cancer, died while his son, Jeff, was about to officiate as line judge the New England Patriots’ overtime victory over the Denver Broncos.

He passed away at 7 p.m.

Seeman officiated in 15 NFL playoff games, two Pro Bowls and Super Bowls XXIII (in Miami) and XXV (in Tampa).
