Cowboys Want Kyle Orton to Stay

Kyle Orton, Tony Romo
Backup QB Kyle Orton wants to retire, but the Cowboys hope he will stay.

According to Pro Football Talk, Orton told the team that he wants to leave the NFL. But, there’s a bit of a twist.

If Orton retires, the Cowboys can’t prevent that. However, they can force him to pay back the $3 million signing bonus they gave him when he signed a five-year contract two years ago.

Who knows? Maybe Orton can afford to sign off on a check that substantial. If not, he’s here to stay.

If he leaves (that’s a big if) then Brandon Weeden would most likely back up Tony Romo.
