CFB: Top 2015 NFL Draft Prospects

The 2014 NFL Draft has come and gone and by this point teams are wrapping up OTAs and about to transition into mandatory minicamp. The Tampa Buccaneers started their minicamp yesterday. With that said, we can now spend all season long making mock drafts of the 2015 NFL draft. Lets look at the potential top five.

1. Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota is an explosive player. He’s very much like Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston in his talent and abilities. He can get a first down with almost no problem with his feet alone. Not even his arm. But regarding his arm, he has averaged 9.5 yards per attempt and his long ball went for 75 yards. He’s only had 4 interceptions and had 31 touchdown passes.

2. Randy Gregory, DE/OLB, Nebraska

Randy Gregory

Randy Gregory could be the first defensive player off the board next spring. Likely to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who need explosive players such as Gregory.

3. Cameron Erving, OT, Florida State

Cameron Erving

Cameron Erving would likely go in the first round. Most likely to the Kansas City Chiefs considering head coach Andy Reid loves to upgrade to the trenches.

4. Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State

We all know about Famous Jameis Winston. Winner of the 2013 Heisman Trophy, Championship winning team, etc. However, he has had a lot of issues off field and that may not sit well with most GM’s so it’ll be interesting to see if he goes No. 1 overall (like so many mock drafts have him going) or not.

5. Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia

Todd Gurley

Todd Gurley tore it up in the 2013 season. Time and time again, he breaks away from tackles and finds space. Next thing you know, he’s gone. No catching him. It’ll be somewhat surprising if he isn’t taken off the board fairly quickly.
