The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have added Carlos Polk as the team’s assistant special teams coach, a move that officially completes Lovie Smith’s coaching staff, a source told Sports Talk Florida on Thursday.
Polk spent the 2013 season as an assistant with the Dallas Cowboys, working with former Bucs special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia. The two also worked together in San Diego.
A fourth-round draft pick in 2001 out of Nebraska, Polk spent eight seasons as a linebacker in the league. He suited up for the Chargers from 2001-2007 and the Cowboys in 2008.
