Minicamp may be over for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with training camp still over a month away, but that hasn’t stopped the powers that be at One Buc Place from continuing to make roster moves.
On Tuesday, the team waived both linebacker Steven Jenkins and offensive tackle Emmett Cleary.
An undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M, Jenkins amassed 234 combined tackles, 101 of them solo, in three seasons suiting up for the Aggies. He also recorded four sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception returned for a touchdown.
Cleary signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College last year. He was placed on injured reserve in September 2013 and was subsequently waived after reaching a settlement for an undisclosed injury.
He joined the Bucs practice squad later that season and was one of 12 players to sign a futures contract with the team in January of 2014.
The Bucs now have three open roster spots that they can fill to reach the 90-player roster threshold.
