The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed former Temple running back and special teams standout Matt Brown, the team announced this morning. The move was first reported by Aaron Wilson of FOX Sports/Scout.com.
At 5-foot-5 and 169 pounds, Brown probably won’t get much work as a running back but could bring some value to the Bucs’ return game.
Brown, who runs a 4.48, was the 2012 Big East Special Teams Player of the Year and set a season-record for punt return yardage.
He was the Big East leader last year in all-purpose yardage, averaging 143.4 yards per game and had a spectacular 93-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Louisville.
