Bucs Sign Former Rams CB Quinton Pointer, Release Marc Anthony


The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed former St. Louis Rams cornerback Quinton Pointer, waiving former practice squad cornerback Marc Anthony, the team announced Friday.

A former undrafted free agent out of UNLV, Pointer was signed by the Rams in 2012. In two seasons, he saw action in eight games, recording five tackles.

In the preseason last year, he saw action in three games and recorded a pass break-up. In the fourth preseason game of 2012 against Baltimore, he recorded nine combined tackles, two pass break-ups and an interception.

During his five seasons at UNLV (he obtained a medical redshirt in 2011), Pointer registered 226 combined tackles, 148 of them solo, with 21 pass break-ups, six interceptions and two sacks.
