Bucs Promote Carr, Release Larsen

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have promoted rookie cornerback Deveron Carr from the practice squad to the 53-man roster and have released fullback Spencer Larsen.

An undrafted free agent out of Arizona State, Carr helps a secondary that has been weakened by injuries.

Anthony Gaitor was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a torn ACL.

Danny Gorrer was placed on injured reserve/designated for return with a groin injury.

Veteran Michael Adams underwent arthroscopic knee surgery this week and won’t be back until later on in the season.

Rookie Rashaan Melvin has been limited in practice with a hamstring injury.

The good news is, the Bucs will have starting fullback Erik Lorig back in action, which is why the team was able to release Larsen.

Lorig was battling a calf injury and is listed as probable for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. Melvin is listed as questionable.
