Tampa Bay Buccaneers director of player personnel, Dennis Hickey, interviewed a second time for the Miami Dolphins vacant general manager position, according to the team’s website.
Hickey met with owner Steve Ross on Saturday, along with Titans VP of player personnel Lake Dawson and Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio. Dolphins assistant GM Brian Gaine also interviewed for the position for a second time on Friday.
Hickey has spent the last 18 seasons with the Buccaneers. He started out as a pro personnel assistant in 1996 and worked his way up the ladder to college scout, director of college scouting and his current role, which he has held since 2011.
He was part of the Bucs’ Super Bowl title in 2002 and helped the team to four division titles.
He served as former GM Mark Dominik’s right-hand man in Tampa, but oddly enough, wasn’t considered for the Bucs’ vacant GM job, which went to Jason Licht.
Hickey first met with the team a little over a week ago. Dawson was also a candidate for the job in Tampa.
