Forget the quarterback-captain controversy and players-only meeting conspiracy theories for just a moment and listen to this — the Tampa Bay Buccaneers home opener will be televised locally.
The Bucs have passed the 85% ticket-threshold required to lift a blackout for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints, meaning fans won’t be subjected to watching pirate TV programming or games on delay.
It’s a small step for a franchise that could be facing issues much greater than ticket sales, (see opening paragraph), but at least the team will have an audience for its first divisional opponent of the season.
The game will air on Fox with kickoff set for 4:05 p.m. The game has not yet sold out and there are still tickets available.
