The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed veteran kicker Rian Lindell, as first reported by Alex Marvez of FOX Sports. To make room for Lindell, the team waived linebacker Joe Holland.
The Bucs were scheduled to bring in some kickers for a tryout at One Buc this week but according to Marvez, the tryout has been canceled.
Lindell was waived by the Bills Monday after 10 seasons. He leaves as the franchise a all-time leader in PATs with 225 and second in team scoring with 980 points.
In his 13 NFL seasons, which included three seasons in Seattle, Lindell has made 283 of 348 field goals, with a 81.3% field goal percentage. He’ll compete with former Derek Dimke, an undrafted free agent in 2012.
Veteran Lawrence Tynes, who has been battling an ingrown toenail and has not yet played in the preseason, remains on the roster (for now), but that could change.
