BREAKING: Bucs Waive Former Third-Round Pick Myron Lewis

Bucs waive CB Myron Lewis, LB Marvin Booker; Sign CB Mason Robinson

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have waived cornerback Myron Lewis, the team announced Thursday afternoon on the eve of the Bucs’ preseason opener.

Lewis played in 29 games for the Buccaneers and was used primarily in sub-packages. He totaled 17 tackles and four pass breakups.

Lewis was a third-round draft pick out of Vanderbilt in 2010. At 6-foot-2, 203 pounds, he possessed the ideal size and the length the Bucs scouting department has always coveted.

But his lack of consistency — he’d make a play in practice, and then get beaten badly — eventually wore out his welcome with the team.

The Bucs also waived linebacker Marvin Booker, who joined the team this week but sustained an unspecified injury during practice.

The Bucs signed former Rutgers cornerback Mason Robinson, who was previously with the team in camp.
