Barber Passes the Torch and ‘Evolution of Today’s NFL Player’

This morning I joined David Baumann for my weekly 7:30 time slot, where I talked about Ronde Barber being the last of a dying breed of ‘lunch-pail’ players, and how today’s NFL player has evolved.

If you have a chance, read the article. His comments about how today’s player has evolved and guys no longer being “afraid of failure” are pretty eye-opening. You’ll also find out who he’s passing the torch to as the leader of the Buccaneer defense.

While you’re at it, check out what Barber’s former coaches and teammates had to say about him. You gain a true appreciation for the type of player lost.

I also discussed the Bucs two newest signings in rookies Steven Means and Mike James, and who I’m looking forward to watching most when OTAs begin next week.
