The Jacksonville Jaguars today activated first-year fullback Will Ta’ufo’ou to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Fourth-year wide receiver Isaiah Stanback and second-year offensive tackle Andrew Mitchell were signed to the practice squad.
Ta’ufo’ou, 5-11, 253, has played in four games for the Jaguars in 2012 with one start. He spent the first seven weeks of the season on the club’s practice squad. He will wear jersey number 45.
Stanback, 6-2, 228, has spent time with Dallas (2007-08), New England (2009), Seattle (2010) and the New York Giants (2011). He was originally a fourth-round draft pick of the Cowboys in 2007 and has played in 16 career games with two starts. His career totals include five receptions for 46 yards and 14 kickoff returns for a 22.7-yard average. He spent the 2012 preseason with the Giants before he was waived on final cuts. He began his collegiate career at Washington as a receiver before making a move to quarterback. He finished his career with 3,868 passing yards and averaged 126.0 yards of total offense.
Mitchell, 6-5, 308, entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Cincinnati in 2010 and also spent time with Seattle. He has not played in a regular season game. A native of Choctaw, Oklahoma, he played two seasons at Oklahoma State after beginning his career as a tight end at Dixie Community College and Snow Junior College in Utah.
Stanback will wear jersey number 86 and Mitchell will wear 79.
