Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that Baas had surgery on his elbow earlier this week. Baas needed to have bone spurs removed and the expectation is that Baas will miss the remainder of the team’s offseason program. Baas should be ready for training camp, however.
It’s not the first operation Baas has had this offseason, although it is the first one that anyone has pinpointed to a particular part of his body. Giants coach Tom Coughlin said earlier this offseason that Baas had surgery somewhere on his body, which presumably means his aura survived the season unscathed.
Right guard Chris Snee is also recovering from surgery on his hip and he’s expected to remain on the sideline for the Giants’ offseason work. Snee’s also expected back for training camp, which likely works just fine for the Giants since both linemen have plenty of experience in the offense.
