David Baas Could Play Week One

Giants_David_Baas_2013New York Giants center David Baas made a quick exit from Sunday night’s preseason game against the Colts with a knee injury. He thinks he could make an equally quick return to action.

Baas said Tuesday he believes he could be back for the regular-season opener against the Cowboys.

“Yeah, I think it is [realistic],” Baas said, via Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News. ”And that’s what I expect, too.”

If Baas can’t play, left guard Kevin Boothe will move to center, right tackle David Diehl will move to left guard, and rookie Justin Pugh will become the starting right tackle.
