The Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to shed salary and Darrelle Revis’ career with Bucs could be one and done. This raises the question, what is best for the Bucs? Revis is arguably the best shutdown corner in the league but doesn’t fit new head coach Lovie Smith’s system. Revis also carries a $16 million price tag. Enter free agent and Smith disciple Charles Tillman.

Tillman at the age of 33 has scored nine defensive touchdowns, intercepted 36 passes and forced 42 fumbles in 11 seasons, the most by any defensive back in league history. Tillman, coming off surgery to repair a torn triceps will not command a high price tag. Yet the intangibles that Tillman brings to the table is what makes him a perfect fit for Tampa especial if Revis is cut or traded.
