NFL Insider: A Look Back at Week 11
Posted By Sports Talk Florida On November 22, 2011 @ 8:09 AM In Insider Main, main feature,NFL | No Comments
We look back at all the games played this weekend and give a brief take on the teams.
Broncos 17, Jets 13
Denver- Von Miller and the Broncos defense have a lot more to do with Denver’s winning than a certain accuracy-challenged quarterback.
New York- The Jets have lost confidence in Mark Sanchez and he’s seemingly lost it in himself. Very mediocre team without even average quarterback play.
Browns 14, Jaguars 10
Cleveland- Wide receivers are better than their reputation, quarterback is worse. They need to draft one or else they’ll get left behind in the AFC North.
Jacksonville- Very poorly coached with the worst set of pass catchers in football. Defense has done a great job this year.
Lions 49, Panthers 35
Detroit- They can score in bunches and they’ll need to this Thursday against Green Bay.
Carolina- Cam Newton is an unbalanced thrower and it’s causing him inaccuracy. He can fix that.
Packers 35, Buccaneers 26
Green Bay- The train keeps rolling but there are tougher games looming. I really don’t think they complete the undefeated season.
Tampa Bay- Josh Freeman is turning the ball over too much and the Bucs aren’t nearly good enough to overcome it.
Dolphins 35, Bills 8
Miami- The might be playing the best football in the AFC right now as they have the “F-U, us against the world” attitude.
Buffalo- It appears that the carriage turned back into a pumpkin. Bills simply don’t have enough depth to absorb their major injuries.
Raiders 27, Vikings 21
Oakland- The Raiders are the dumbest team in football in terms of penalties. That will cost them against decent teams.
Minnesota- Classic rookie quarterback growing pains but it will be worth it. Adrian Peterson’s injury will make life much more difficult on Christian Ponder.
Cowboys 27, Redskins 24
Dallas- The Boys are headed toward the NFC East title but I’m not sure how good they actually are.
Washington- If Mike Shanahan coached the same way and he had a different name he would definitely be on the hot seat.
Ravens 31, Bengals 24
Baltimore- The Ravens are such an enigma. Great against good teams, terrible against bad teams. You have to love Torrey Smith though.
Cincinnati- They can’t beat legitimate teams but they still might make the playoffs with their soft schedule.
Seahawks 24, Rams 7
Seattle- Pete Carroll has the ‘Hawks playing better football but they still need a quarterback and another playmaker on the outside.
St. Louis- Sam Bradford has really regressed in his second season. Steve Spagnuolo may not get to see the Bradford experiment through.
49ers 23, Cardinals 7
San Francisco- Their defense is good enough to where it can overcome Alex Smith. We’ll find out more about them Thursday night at Baltimore.
Arizona- I guess John Skelton doesn’t just win games. Cards need Kevin Kolb to come back and be much better.
Falcons 23, Titans 17
Atlanta- The Falcons bounced back nicely from an emotional loss. Their schedule sets up well in the final six weeks.
Tennessee- They need to just start Jake Locker and Javon Ringer for the rest of the season.
Bears 31, Chargers 20
Chicago- Jay Cutler’s injury comes at the worst possible time as the Bears are one of the hottest teams in football. Hopefully he can come back before the end of the season.
San Diego- It’s seriously time for Norv Turner to go. He’s taken a talented team right down the drain.
Eagles 17, Giants 10
Philadelphia- Vince Young just wins games, right? Eagles defense played their best game of the season Sunday night.
New York- When the Giants miss the playoffs, this and the Seattle game will be the ones they’ll be sick over.
Patriots 34, Chiefs 3
New England- Pats schedule sets up so they likely won’t lose another game during the regular season.
Kansas City- The Tyler Palko era doesn’t look that much different than the Matt Cassel era. That’s not a good thing.
