NFC North Over/Unders

The NFL Draft has been completed, most of the impact moves in free agency have been made months ago and the 2013 schedule is out. Perhaps most importantly, Las Vegas has weighed in and set the over/unders for each NFL team. We are going to take a look at each team, division-by-division and speculate on whether they will finish better or worse than their numbers show.
Is this bettable? In a word, yes. The Chicago Bears are coming off a 10-win campaign and return most of the principles from that club. New head coach Marc Trestman will add some wrinkles to the offense that flourished with Brandon Marshall in 2012. Jay Cutler will have better protection and the defense should improve as well. A third-place schedule will assist the Bears greatly. The Bears should challenge to win double-digit games again.
Is this bettable? It is bettable. The Detroit Lions seem like the worst team in the division and they failed to make their offensive line and secondary better. The addition of Reggie Bush is nice, but they will still have issues in short yardage. The team is still looking for a second option at wide receiver for Matt Stafford, who regressed in 2012. Even with a last-place schedule the Lions will struggle to avoid double-digit losses.
Is this bettable? In a word, no. Not only does Green Bay have a first-place schedule which includes non-division opponents such as San Francisco and Atlanta, but they also have the “luck” of facing the AFC North. The Packers appear to be a more complete team with the additions of Eddie Lacy and Jonathan Franklin and that should pay off during the playoffs. Unfortunately, Chicago will be much improved and it’s difficult to find 11 victories on this schedule.
Is this bettable? In a word, no. It’s difficult to imagine that Adrian Peterson will be able to repeat his 2012 success and without Percy Harvin a one-dimensional offense will become….more one-dimensional. The Vikings had a very good draft but will have non-divisional opponents like Seattle and Carolina. Christian Ponder will be further exposed as a good backup quarterback (but not a starter) and teams will load up to stop Peterson. The Vikings will likely contend for last place before they do a playoff spot.
