NBA GOES PUBLIC (TRANSPORTATION) WITH NBA ALL-STAR 2015 LOGO

League Highlights the Connectivity of New York Citys Five Boroughs with Logo for Marquee Event

NEW YORK, July 10, 2014 The NBA today introduced the logo for NBA All-Star 2015 in New York City. Inspired by the design of the iconic public transportation signs that adorn many corners of Americas largest city, the logo includes colors reminiscent of the subway and bus lines that connect each of the five boroughs: The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island.

The logo design pays tribute to the two host teams, the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks. The teams abbreviations, BKN and NYK, appear above circles bearing the teams respective colors and the year 2015.

For the fifth time, New York City a metropolis steeped in basketball tradition will host the All-Star Game, with Friday and Saturday nights festivities originating from Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Sundays All-Star Game taking place at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan. As part of NBA All-Star 2015, the NBA and its partners will host a variety of community, grassroots and fan events throughout the citys five boroughs.

At 9 a.m. ET today, the All-Star 2015 logo debuted on Nets, Knicks, and league-affiliated digital platforms, while the NBA Store on Fifth Avenue and NBAStore.com released adidas T-shirts featuring the new design.

The 64th NBA All-Star Game will be televised exclusively on TNT on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015. The All-Star Game, also broadcast live on ESPN Radio, will collectively reach fans in 215 countries and territories in more than 40 languages. Additional details on tickets, schedule and other All-Star information will be released at a later date.
