The Orlando Magic held a press conference on Friday to introduce Victor Olapido and Romero Osby, the Magic’s newest additions.
Oladipo was selected second overall and Osby was selected 51 overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic.
Magic fans hope Oladipo’s hard working attitude and talents on the court can help Orlando improve. Last season, the Magic ended the season with the worst record in the NBA (20-62).
Orlando started the season on the right foot but injuries pilled up and the young core had to take charge. The turning point of the Magic’s 2012-’13 season was when Glen Davis broke his left foot on Dec. 19 against the Washington Wizards. The Magic held a respectable 12-13 record at the time, but went on to lose 20 straight games after Big Baby’s injury.
The Magic’s young core had to step up their game when the veterans on the roster were out with injuries.
Nik Vucevic started averaging double-doubles towards the end of December and even broke a franchise record with 29 rebounds against Chris Bosh and the Maimi Heat on New Year’s Eve. Vucevic broke a 19-year-old record set by Shaquille O’Neal back in the ’90s.
As the Magic go through the rebuilding process young players will play a huge roll and will have to step up their game to stay on the roster.
