When Magic general manager Rob Hennigan decided to take Victor Oladipo with the second overall pick this past June his expectations of the young guard were high.
“He is a bright kid with a ton of potential,” Hennigan said.
Oladipo is second among rookies in points per game (12.3) and averages just under 3.5 assists.
NBA fans and reporters who have had the privilege of watching him play this year are hoping he decides to compete in this years NBA dunk contest.
“If my teammates want me in it, I’ll compete,” Oladpio said.
The rookie touched on whether starting or coming off the bench was a big deal to him.
“I don’t really care, I don’t have a preference either way,” he said.
Oladipo has started the past four games for Orlando is averaging 15.2 points per game, two of those games coming against the Miami Heat.
Tonight the Magic will host the Philadelphia 76ers and another stud rookie Michael Carter-Williams.
Tip off set for 7pm.
