Entering this NBA season both the Orlando Magic players and thier fans knew it was going to be a rebuilding process, but it doesnt hide the fact losing so much is hard and can be mentally draining.
The Magic (9-20) were able to get a big home win over the Detroit Pistons Friday night 109-92.
“It was a good win for our team and our guys, they played well tonight,” Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn said.
Orlando has lost 10 of its last 13 games but it’s not due to a lack of effort.
“We are going to keep fighting, we won’t let it get out of hand like last season,” Arron Afflalo said after the Knicks loss Monday.
Afflalo is making a case for the NBA East All-Star team, the second-year Magic guard is averaging 22 points, 3.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Rookie Victor Oladipo has also been a bright spot for the Magic this season recording his first double-double Friday night, he also put up a triple-double against the Philadelphia 76ers a few weeks back.
With another win tomorrow night Orlando will have its first back-to-back win since Novemvber 26th and 27th.
“We knew coming into the season it would be a learning process. Just need to keep fighting for wins,” Oladipo said.
The Magic fans may not see many wins this year from this team but they will get a group of guys giving all they have game in and game out, that’s someting everyone can be proud of.
