Magic Should Move Afflalo Now

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports is reporting the Chicago Bulls are interested in acquiring Orlando Magic guard Arron Afflalo. Afflalo averaged career highs in scoring (18.2) and assists (3.4). He also hit 42.7 percent from 3-point range and was nearly an All-Star for a bad Magic team in 2013-14. His contract situation leaves him as a good possibility to maximize a one season rental of the shooting guard before he hits free agency.

The Magic should move Afflalo while he has such high value. Orlando holds the number four overall pick in this Wednesdays NBA Draft and should look to move the UCLA grad to add pieces to an already young roster, also giving him an opportunity to help a contender.

It has been reported this week that Afflalo has asked to be traded via his agent, nothing has been set in stone though. While he is a veteran that could help the Magic, he is much more valuable if moved while his stock is at its highest.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have also shown interest in trading for Afflalo.
