Insider: Magic’s Aleve-Publix Hustle Player of the Year Award

Rookie Kyle O’Quinn won the Orlando Magic’s 2013 Aleve-Publix Hustle Player of the Year award. He will be handed the award Monday night during the Magic’s last home game of the season.

The 23-year-old power forward from Queens, N.Y. joins Ryan Anderson, Dwight Howard and Matt Barnes as recipients of this award.

Time and time again O’Quinn has shown his hustle and his drive to get better. Whether it was bloody lip, which resulted in seven stitches or driving in for a loose ball, head coach Jacque Vaughn can count on him to make a hustle plays.

“I’m not one of the guys that takes 20 shots a game, but I like to do the little things. To be awarded for it, it feels good,” O’Quinn said Sunday after the Magic’s practice.
