Per Brian Serra, Jason Richardson has reached an agreement with the Orlando Magic:
Otis just announced that Jason Richardson and the Magic are close to terms and should be finalized by Monday.
Adrian Wojnarowski has the details of the deal:
Jason Richardson has reached agreement on a four year, $25M deal with the Orlando Magic, league source tells Y! Sports.
Richardson, who’s now 31, saw his numbers plummet with the Magic last season. He averaged just 13.9 points per game and shot just 43.3% from the field and 38.4% from beyond the arc, big drop offs from what he was doing in Phoenix.
Four years is also a lot to commit to Richardson with today’s developments (re: Howard).
However, if Howard does have a change, the deal isn’t is pretty good money-wise and the Magic really need Richardson’s ability to knock down the three. Most thought Richardson would be out of Orlando’s price range.
Of course, without the waiving of Gilbert Arenas through the amnesty provision, that probably would have been true.
