Training camps across the NBA opened today.
After a practice that lasted nearly four hours, the local media got to speak with Magic Center Dwight Howard.
As you can see from the video, despite taking a shot at ESPN’s Chris Broussard and sporting an “ORLANDO” hat, Dwight Howard’s comments weren’t exactly reassuring.
Afterwards, Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix reported Howard’s agent, Dan Fegan, has been granted permission to speak with three teams:
Dwight Howard’s agent, Dan Fegan, tells SI that the Magic gave Howard permission to have contact with several teams to explore his options
Fegan says the Orlando gave Howard permission to talk to three teams. New Jersey was one of them.
Fegan: “Tampering doesn’t apply once a player grants permission for a player and/or his representative to have contact with another team.”
Fegan: “I most definitely had contact with the teams I had permission.”
Clearly, this takes my not “reassuring” comment to another level.
