The Orlando Magic lost another close game. This time the Raptors beat them 97-95 with a buzzer beating basket from Demar Derozan.
Derozan not only made the game winning basket, he also put up 14 points in the fourth quarter for the Raptors.
The Magic have lost 11 out of the last 17 games by six points or less. When the coaches and players are asked why they are losing most of these close games they respond by saying they need to get one or two more shots and get one or two more stops. The reality is that a game does not come down to one play, it comes down to multiples plays.
Having that said, Orlando’s focus right now is to get better defensively. Once they are able to get stops on demand they will give themselves the opportunity offensively to win games.
After the game JJ Redick said, “A loss can be a step in the right direction, because we competed the whole game. We were more actively defensively.”
Up next, Orlando will host Detroit Sunday at 6 p.m.
