The Orlando Magic will start their 25th ‘Silver Season’ season on the road. They will face the Indiana Pacers (Tuesday night) and Minnesota Timberwolves (Wednesday night) before returning to the Amway for the season home opener against the New Orleans Pelicans (Friday night.)
The Magic’s ‘Silver Season’ will serve as Victor Oladipo’s anticipated rookie campaign. The young guard is excited to return to Indiana where he played college ball with the Indiana Hoosiers. Oladipo says his family and friends will be in attendance to cheer on the Magic. So expect to see some candy striped pants in the crowd Tuesday night.
This past June, the Orlando Magic selected Oladipo in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft. Oladipo sits at 6’4” and weighs 231 pounds. Oladipo averaged 10.7, ppg, 5.2 rpg and 1.55 stlpg in the three years he played with Indiana. He started all 36 games last season and averaged 13.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.17 stlpg and 2.1 apg with the Hoosiers. Magic fans got a small taste of Oladipo during Orlando’s Pro Summer League and the preseason and will be able to see him in action on Tuesday night.
The Magic vs. Pacers game will serve as one of three games of opening night of the 2013-14 NBA season. The other two matches include the Heat vs. Bulls and the Clippers vs. Lakers. All Magic games will be televised in high definition on FOX Sports Florida. Magic fans can buy season tickets as low as $40 or less.
