The Orlando Magic organization strives to be leaders on and off the court by helping out the Central Florida community any chance they get. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, several Magic players will volunteer to help feed the less fortunate around the community. Magic coaches, players and staff will distribute turkeys and serve a Thanksgiving meal in the next week and half.
Magic’s Tobias Harris, Nikola Vučević and Maurice Harkless will hand out Thanksgiving meals to preselected families in the Central Florida community on Thursday, Nov. 21.
On Thanksgiving morning, Jameer Nelson, Jason Maxiell, Victor Oladipo, head coach Jacque Vaughn and CEO Alex Martins will serve breakfast to residents at the Coalition for the Homeless.
In the last 25 years, the Magic organization has donated over $40 million to the Central Florida community through event sponsorships, donated tickets, autographed merchandise, scholarships and grants. In the 2012-13 season, Magic’s players, coaches and staff logged in nearly 6,000 community service hours.
