Dwight Howard was the focus all week in Orlando, he was focus before the game, he was the focus during the game, and he was the center of attention after dominant performance in the win over his former team.
In his first game at the Amway Center as the opponent. Howard had a season-high 39 points and 16 rebounds as the Lakers defeated the Magic 106-97 at a soldout Amway Center on Tuesday.
“I looked forward to coming back here and playing. It was a fun game,” said Howard, who tied his NBA single-game record with 39 free throw attempts. “It was a hostile environment, but it was something that was good for me.
“Thank God it’s over with,” he said. “This is something that I needed, and it’s something the city needed, too. We can all move on. I had eight great years here. People will feel the way feel. I understand that.”
Howard was surrounded by a massive media which rivaled of a NBA Conference Finals. All the major local and national media waited as Howard got dressed and addressed the media. Like he did on the court Tuesday night and did for many years in Orlando. Howard put on a show at the game and with the media. Howard said he would return to Orlando in the summer and spend time in Orlando. Right now Howard focus is leading the Lakers to the playoffs and finish the season strong.
