Dallas Mavericks top Orlando Magic 108-100

Magic MavericksThe Orlando Magic lost their second home game of the season against the Dallas Mavericks Saturday night.

The Magic dug themselves into a whole early on and could not over come the deficit. The Mavericks made sure the Magic didn’t get back into the game by making key defensive stop late in the fourth quarter.

In the first half, the Magic allowed the Mavericks to score 59 points and could not get defensive stops. They ended up turning the ball over 19 times, which gave the Mavericks a lot energy and momentum. Monte Ellis led the Mavericks with 19 points and had nine assists. A healthy Dirk Nowitzki added 18 points, three assists and three rebounds. The Mavericks improve to 6-4 while the Magic stand at 4-6.

Arron Afflalo led the Magic with 25 points followed by Nikola Vucevic with 16 points and eight rebounds. Solomon Jones returned to the Magic’s lineup after injuring his knee on Oct. 30.

Rookie Victor Oladipo had a tough game as he finished with 10 points and nine turnovers. Jameer Nelson only played for 22 minutes and finished the night with 15 points. He is not hurt, it was just a coaches decision for Oladipo to play more down the stretch.

The Magic will have Sunday off before returning to practice Monday morning. They will host the Miami Heat on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. ET.
