According to the New York Daily News, Carmelo Anthony plans to re-sign with the New York Knicks.
A person close to Anthony told the paper that unless he has a last minute change of heart, he will stay in New York.
The paper quoted Anthony’s friend, saying “He will have something for everybody on Thursday. He is really torn because this is the biggest decision of his career. But he wants to get it done in New York. He told me he believes in Phil.”
The reason for the wait until Thursday is because on July 1oth, NBA free agents can begin signing contracts. Anthony’s possible contract with the Knicks is worth $129 million over five years.
