Free agent point guard Mario Chalmers wants to stay put and help the Miami Heat reach the NBA Finals for a fifth consecutive season.
“I hope we stay together,” Chalmers said per Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports. “I think we have a good thing going.”
Chalmer’s return is one of the many questions the Heat are facing. His production dropped significantly during the postseason and he wound up losing his starting job for Game 5.
The 28-year-old averaged 6.4 points and 3.6 assists during the postseason. In the regular season, he averaged 9.8 points and 4.9 assists.
