Monday, they celebrated. Then comes a carefree offseason for LeBron James.
Next season, the Miami Heat hope to be celebrating a third consecutive championship. Whether the 2014 offseason is as carefree for James is another issue.
In a sitdown interview with CNN’s Rachel Nichols that aired Monday, James was asked about his 2014 opt-out clause, the first of three consecutive offseasons James will have the right to explore free agency.
“I don’t know,” James, Most Valuable Player of both the 2012-13 NBA regular season and just-completed NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, said, “because I haven’t really even thought about it. So when that moment comes up, I will approach it, like a professional, and we’ll see what happens.”
