Insider: LeBron James Still King Of The NBA

LeBron James showed Monday night against the Magic once again that he is still the MVP of the NBA, scoring eight of his 36 points in overtime and also finished with 11 assists and eight rebounds to help the Heat beat the Magic 112-110 in overtime at the Amway Center.   James help the Heat win despite  getting destroyed on the boards getting outrebounded  50-33 by the Magic. The Heat were nearly outrebounded by Magic’s Center Nik Vucevic who had a Magic franchise record 29 rebounds by himself to go along with 20 points.  The Heat had no buisness wininng on Monday night  except James decided to make it his buisness to make sure  the Heat did not lose  a 3rd straight game  and help lead the Heat comeback as the Heat  outscored the Magic 42-33 in the 4th quarter and overtime combine to come from behind to defeat a shorthanded Magic team in Overtime.  Remember when people questioned when  James arrived  if the Heat would be James team or Wade team ? Its not even a thought anymore, The Miami Heat is LeBron franchise. James is the player the Heat will build around and everyone else is expandable including Wade.

Monday night was a  fitting end to the 2012 calender year for   James who  had a great  2012  year, Winning, regular season MVP, Finals MVP, Winning his first NBA Title,  winning Gold Medal in the Summer Olympics, and winning SI Sportsman of the Year.  James has won three of the last four MVP awards in the league including winning last season. While many are pushing for Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony for the award , James is still on top of his game   having another great season in the top 20 in pts (25.9) 5th , rebounds (8.5) 17th , and assts (6.9) T-9th on the season, shooting 54% from the field which is good enough to rank 8th in the league. No other player in the leagues ranks in the top 20 in those 4 categories. In fact only Russell Westbrook and Tony Parker rank in the top 20 in 2 of those 4 categories which is points and assists.

James  has scored 20 or more points in all 29 of Miami’s games this season. Should James win the MVP this season  it would be his 4th in five seasons, Only Bill Russell has ever done that in the same time span.  James would join  Wilt Chamberlin, Bill Russell with 4 each,Michael Jordan (5)  and Kareeem Abdul Jabbar (6)  as the only NBA players to win four or more Mvp’s in league History.  LeBron James is the best player in the league and still is the man to beat for the NBA title, and NBA MVP, and  the league will have a hard time taking the crown from the King.

Here postgame of James following the win over the Magic.
