ABC to give max coverage to the NBA Finals

Thursday night ABC will begin telecasting the 2012-2013 NBA Finals. It will be the defending NBA Champion Miami Heat and LeBron James vs. the San Antonio Spurs and Tim Duncan – with tip off  a little after 9 p.m.

For the seventh consecutive year, Mike Breen – the voice of The Finals – will provide commentary with analyst Jeff Van Gundy. Doris Burke will provide sideline reports and former referee and ESPN NBA analyst Steve Javie will be courtside throughout the series to offer insights.

So what can we expect from the folks at ESPN/ABC when it comes to the coverage of the NBA Finals?

Well let’s start with a brand new open that the network promises will celebrate the greatest players and moments from past NBA Finals. We will see or more to the point we will hear more in-game interviews with coaches, along with each coach being “wired” for sound.

There will be pre-game and halftime locker room access along with a cool new camera set up from I-MOVIX  presenting dramatic slow motion replays from brand new vantage points.

Speaking of cameras the network will use 36 high-definition video cameras including a SkyCam” that will provide aerial views of the action from above the court.  There will very important utilization of eight Super Slo Mo cameras.
