Nationals, Jordan Zimmermann Avoid Arbitration
Posted By Sam Greenberg On February 16, 2013 @ 4:20 am In MLB,Rumors | No Comments
Bill Ladson of MLB.com reports that Zimmermann will get $5.35 million.
Jordan Zimmermann and the Nationals have avoided arbitration with a one-year deal.
Zimmermann requested $5.8 million in his second season of arbitration eligibility and the Nationals countered at $4.6 million after he threw 196 innings with a 2.94 ERA at age 26.
Zimmermann bounced back from Tommy John elbow surgery remarkably well to establish himself as one of the best young starters in baseball and as a “Super Two” player the Nationals still control him via arbitration for 2014 and 2015.
