Nate Burleson Agrees To Restructured Contract
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, wide receiver Nate Burleson has also agreed to restructure his contract to stay with the Lions.
The Lions were close to the salary cap before making the moves and have given themselves some cushion to work with. With the team also looking to work out a long-term deal for quarterback Matthew Stafford, it allows the Lions some added flexibility before talks begin with Stafford’s agents this week at the NFL combine.
Burleson is coming off a broken leg suffered last October. Prior to his injury, Burleson had caught 27 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns this season.
