Wil Myers Crazy Trip Around The Bases On Infield Single

Wil Myers Opening Day Includes A Mad Dash Around The Bases

Wil Myers came to the plate in the bottom of the eighth inning with pinch-runner Brandon Guyer at first base and the Rays leading 6-2. He tapped a ball back to pitcher Jeremy Jeffress who wheeled and threw wildly down the right field line. Guyer came in to score and Myers charged around second and toward third. Jose Bautista‘s throw escaped third baseman Brett Lawrie and Myers scampered home to give the Rays an 8-2 lead.

When asked if he could have run another 90 feet he chuckled and said no “I was gassed, that was it, right there.”

I am a fan of all sports but am most passionate about baseball. From the fanatical to analytical, nothing about the game escapes me. Being born and raised in Northeast Ohio I'm very familiar with the heartache and pain that sports can bring and hope that I bring some understanding of the other side to my coverage. I will focus mostly on baseball but also cover the Tampa Bay Lightning, one of the most electric franchises in all of sports. Always willing to converse about any sport and have only one rule and that is be respectful at all times.
