Florida State is still basking in the glow of winning the ACC Championship Game and finished at the top of every college football poll in the land. Next up a date with the Auburn Tigers, in Pasadena at the iconic Rose Both Stadium on January 6th, 2014 for the final BCS Championship Game, before the new four team playoff system goes into effect.
This has been an impressive season for the 12-0 Seminoles and the have certainly caught the attention of the odds makers who have set the early line. FSU is a clear 7 point favorite headed to Southern California and the team and their newly extended coach Jimbo Fisher could not be happier.
The Seminoles have an interesting challenge in facing the Tigers, if they defeat Auburn and capture the BCS National Championship, they will be the first non SEC title holder since 2005. That season it was a Texas team led by Vince Young at quarterback that took home the national championship trophy.
For the record the sports book at the famous Las Vegas Hotel, has FSU as 8.5 favorite while most offshore books like the Seminoles to win by nine points. Once people start crunching the numbers FSU will still be the favorites but given the play by Auburn in big games this year look for the point spread to shrink to closer to around six points by game time.
