USF basketball faced the SMU Mustangs Tuesday night and after suffering four straight losses, the Bulls pulled out the victory.
Victor Rudd scored 21 points to eclipse 1,000 for his USF career and now has 1,011. He is the 18th player in school history with 1,000 points. Rudd scored his 1,000th point on a technical free throw early the second half. The technical was given to SMU’s Nic Moore.
Rudd currently stands in 17th place all-time at USF with 1,011. He passed Doug Wallace (1,009).
Chris Perry scored 18 points which tied a career high (at Bradley, 12/28/13).
SMU entered the game ranked second in the NCAA in field goal percentage defense at 36.2. No team had shot better than 47.8 percent in a game until Tuesday when the Bulls shot 53.1 percent from the field.
