UCF Football No. 15 in Both Polls

UCF Football Remains Top 15
Knights hold their highest rankings to close out the regular season.

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF is on its way to its first BCS bowl game this season, and in the final regular-season polls the Knights placed 15th in both the Associated Press Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll. The No. 15 ranking in each poll this year is the highest for the Knights since joining the FBS in 1996.

The Knights (0 votes) join Auburn (0 votes), Michigan State and Baylor as four teams who were unranked in the AP Preseason Poll and are now going to BCS games.

UCF did receive two points in the Preseason Coaches Poll, and picked up votes each week in the poll for the entire regular season. The Knights first received votes in the AP Top 25 after defeating Penn State Sept. 14.

Prior to 2013, UCF’s highest showing in the polls was No. 21/20 at the conclusion of the 2010 campaign. Currently, the 629 points and 658 points in the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll, respectively, are the most the Knights have received in school history.

With an 11-1 overall record, the Black and Gold will find out Sunday at 8:30 p.m. where its BCS destination will be as the Vizio BCS Selection Show will air on ESPN.
