Stay & Play Weekend at Shingle Creek Resort

Historic Shingle Creek Links The Past to the Future of Orlando Golf at Shingle Creek Golf Club
Experience this remarkable new Orlando golf course, which takes its name from the pristine creek, which traverses the property. Early Central Florida settlers, circa 1800, were drawn to the area by the abundance of game, fishing, ancient cypress trees, and of course, the beautiful creek.

Those early pioneers used the creek well, logging the cypress trees, which were floated down stream to a nearby mill and eventually made into shingles for their homes. Thus the name – Shingle Creek. Today we know that Shingle Creek is part of the natural headwaters of the Florida Everglades, located some 140 miles south of Orlando. The ancient waters of Shingle Creek wind through the elegant new mega resort like a dowager’s necklace – slinky, shiny, and sparkling with hidden treasure. You may even add something round, dimpled and expensive to her cache, making you a contributor to historic bounty! (A nice way of saying you shanked one into the water, eh?)

Orlando Golf at Shingle Creek is many things, but ordinary is not one of them. Why choose Shingle Creek Golf Club instead of our competition? It’s simple. We have no competition.

Welcome to The Eagles Golf Club
The Eagles Golf Club boasts a long, proud tradition as the standard of excellence for public access golf in the Tampa market and we are honored to preserve that legacy. The Eagles two championship golf courses, The Lakes and The Forest, offer our players distinctly different experiences at our location in the prestigious gated Eagles community.

Our recent management partnership with Down To Earth, Inc. allowed us to complete an extensive renovation of the Forest course and a makeover of the clubhouse landscaping. The Forest course now has “Champion” Dwarf Bermuda greens, an upgraded irrigation system, reconstructed bunkers thoughout and a few design changes that enhance the playability of the golf course.

At 6719 yards from the championship tees, the Forest Course demands precise shot-making and course management. The drivable par four third is a classic risk/reward opportunity; eagle or “other” is a possible score on this challenging hole. The peninsula green on the par three sixth offers all the characteristic drama of a forced carry over water. The back nine is nestled in a setting more reminiscent of a nature preserve than a golf course; you’ll find it hard to believe that the Tampa airport is a mere 20 minutes away. Your time spent on these fairways surrounded by the tranquility of the natural surroundings will have you coming back again and again.

The Lakes Course stretches to over 7000 yards “from the tips” and provides a completely different look and feel than the Forest Course. It takes accurate ball striking and length to successfully navigate this interesting layout. Number one is a twisting, turning par five around a majestic oak in the right center of the fairway; but a birdie is a great way to start your round. A recent tree removal project has opened the canopy on the second hole; we think you’ll like the new look. To preserve the natural ambiance of the Eagles, twenty trees were strategically added to replace those that were removed.

No matter which golf experience you choose, stop at the restaurant in the Eagles clubhouse before or after your round. Enjoy the best burger you’ll ever have or select from one of our weekly specials; either way, your satisfaction is guaranteed.
